If you venture further towards the east of Amsterdam, you won't be disappointed. It's a busy, bubbly area that has seem to found a new energy. The Javastraat is a good place to wonder around, with places like De Jonge Admiraal and Emporium of Wonders (this shop used to be on the Zeedijk). But there's also beautifull scenery and such interesting architecture.

I biked east to see the Gevonden op Marktplaats Wintersalon on KNSM-eiland. KNSM-eiland is a peninsula and part of the Eastern Docklands. It's named after the Royal Dutch Steamboat Company that was based there untill 1979. In the '80's, squaters, artists and citynomads took over the area but now it is a more high-end place to live with lots of old buildings inbetween the new funky architecture. It's also home to stores like Pol's Potten and Van Pampus and the Rademakers Gallery.

Gevonden op Marktplaats Wintersalon
And then there is the Gevonden op Marktplaats Wintersalon. A temporary shop displaying a unique mix of vintage furniture, art and designobjects curated by Julien Rademaker, the man behind Gevonden op Marktplaats. This is a website where he shows off his best design finds from Marktplaats (the Dutch Ebay). Such a great and simple concept.
It was bound to be filled with interesting finds, I thought. And it did not disappoint: high-end vintage but also more affordable items are for sale and everything is on point. Although, of course, I fell in love with some of the more expensive lamps and chairs. Typical.

All The Luck In The World
All The Luck In The World was already to be found in the De Pijp area, but now in the east as well. It's a mother-daughter team that opened this concept store with coffeebar. They also sell their own jewelry line under the same name. The new location is filled with vintage, second hand and is plant-heavy (like any selfrespecting concept store is these days). A shop with a lot of natural materials, wonderful cabinets and lovely design.
