The weekend is coming up, want to know a few things to do?

FRIDAY

Van Gogh Museum Vrijdagavonden - this Friday Dutch singer Eefje de Visser will play at the Van Gogh Museum. When? 20.30-21.15, central hall.

SATURDAY New Food Fair - the 18th edition of the New Food Fair on the Haarlemmerstraat and Haarlemmerdijk, where any gastronomic company puts some tables and chairs on the street to let you taste their goods. High and low brow in one, you can taste oysters, juices, Bara, wines, cheeses, you name it. In the evening you get one huge outside dining experience! When? All day and evening.

Pop-up Saturday: Beer- and wine tasting - always wanted to do a beer tasting, but your friends prefer wines? The solution; a beer AND wine tasting at the bar of the Consious Hotel Vondelpark. Try a variety of cold beers from Gulpener Bierbrouwerij or Oedipus Brewing while your friends sip their wines and learn about the origin of the different wines from Wijnhandel Van Krimpen. After you have decided which beers or wines you like the most, you can order a beer- or wine flight (3 small drinks with matching bites). When? 19:30 - 23:30. Register by emailing to Hermen@conscioushotels.com or leave a message on their fb.

Cinema De Filmhallen - it’s official, there’s a new cinema in town. And in the west, how perfect. Just opened, but already popular amongst locals. You should really check it out this weekend.

Amsterdam Fringe Festival - The Amsterdam Fringe Festival takes place in the fringes of the Dutch Theatre Festival, highlighting Amsterdam's avant-garde drama productions. 10 Days of 80 theatre groups at 40 locations with performance, live art, music, theatre, dance & uninhibited energy. When? From the 4th until the 14th of September all over town.

SUNDAY

Trouw invites… Beirut - old printing factory Trouw collabarates with the Stedelijk Museum once again. This time you can visit Trouw invites… Beirut. The famous and popular spot for spending many late nights will close its doors in the beginning of January, so make sure you visit while you can. For the exhibition of Trouw invites… Beirut, the contemporary art space Beirut (Cairo) has invited Lebanese artist Rayyane Tabet to create a new installation in their basement area. Beirut is an independent art space based in Cairo that has gained international recognition for its engaging and cutting-edge programs and exhibitions. When? Opening 4 September, Trouw Invites... Beirut can be visited for free until September 28th, from Tuesday through Thursday between 17:30 and 22:00. On Friday and Saturday, the exhibition will only be accessible to visitors of the club or restaurant.

Brasserie Halte 3 - Have your Sunday lunch at this new spot in Tramremise De Hallen, they have a nice terrace and it will be sunny. I demand it.

Bankjes Collectief - eat and drink outside with locals at different spots in town. Today some people put a bench in front of their house and serve drinks and some bites, how nice. Check their FB to see where you can find these benches.

Have a great weekend then!
