Here we go! This weekend in Amsterdam:
Elle is the magic word. ELLE, ELLE Eten and ELLE Decoration are turning the city upside down with their ELLE Festival. The centre will be buzzing with music, pop-ups (the opening of the Vitra pop-up store), workshops and a trunk sale. Starting on Friday, tickets are €10.
Ok, this is actually all summer but I'm planning on going this weekend so for me it's a “this weekend” tip. Last Saturday, the Calder expo opened in the gardens of the Rijksmuseum. You can wander into the gardens and look around his sculptures and mobiles, for free. Did I say it will be on display all summer?
IDFA by Night started! Untill the 4th of July, you can watch different documentaries at Pakhuis De Zwijger. It's open air and for free, shows start daily at 22h00.
Test your senses at the 5D Festival on the NDSM wharf; spoil your tastebuds, revel at the sights, prick up your ears, smell the air and put your hands to work.
On Sunday, head west for some tunes by Kris Berry and Perquisite in the Erasmuspark for free. As part of the WESTwaARTS festival, with also more music, theater and fun stuff for kids. Don't worry, they will show the football match afterwards on a big screen. If you want. (Otherwise, go home and close all doors and windows.)
And a little for next week:
TrouwAmsterdam kicks off its new collaborative series with Stedelijk, 'Trouw Invites...'. For the first of 3 exhibitions, Parisians Palais de Tokyo curate the Trouw basement. From 3 July. Very excited about it!
Have a great weekend!
