I know the week just started, but I for one am already looking at the weekend! How about you? Here's some events to put on your to do list:

  • Rollende Keukens (Rolling Kitchens) at Westerpark. Foodtruck and more foodtrucks. Here's to hoping the sun will shine by then! From the 28th May 'till 1st June.

  • Vrij-Closed, VRIJMARKT at Het Concertgebouw. Huge market and party inside the concert venue on the Museumplein. With loads of dj's and stores like Les Deux Freres, Blueprint Eyewear and Jutka & Riska. On Friday the 30th.

  • Saturday sees the closing of Toren (the old Shell building). They will make place for develloment with music and creativity as focus. (Think a rotating restaurant, a club, hotel and musicproduction (ID&T en MassiveMusic) offices.) So, a party on Saturday with dj's, expo's and a bbq. Just across the IJ river.

  • Coded Matter(s): Extended Senses at De Brakke Grond on Sunday. A festival of sorts about intellegent technologie. With talks, performances, a pop-up exhibition and food and drinks. Technology is expanding all around us and getting ever closer to us, as an extension of our bodies. Computers have moved from our laps to our pockets and waves of networked watches, glasses and implants are being launched at technology fairs. Sensors allow us to re-discover our environment. Throughout this day, artists, designers and researchers will allow us to see and experience the possibilities – and the risks. In English!

  • Flea market-wise you'll be fine this weekend. It's time for another huge IJhallen flea market. And, outside the city: a flea market in Zandvoort this Saturday. I mean, if the weather is good it will be perfect with the beach and all. Then, on Sunday you can also opt for the Amstelveld market.

  • Het Lente Kabinet is a day long art festival filled with music, literature, movies and more. Check it out here. It will take place this Saturday.

  • The Amsterdam Maker Festival is one big open workshop where modern artisans display their crafts. Within the 4 themes: food, art, fashion & technology, you can participate, taste, watch and listen. Sustainability is the key! From the 30th 'till the 1st. (Note: cool for kids as well!)

  • And it's the start of Holland Festival on Sunday. For the whole of June you can go see international stage acts and performers in theater, music, dance and opera.

That about sums it up! Have fun.
