Isamu Noguchi was a Japanese American artist and landscape architect whose artistic career spanned six decades, from the 1920s onward. He made sculptures, but also designed furniture, lamps and stage sets for several plays. He collaborated with the Herman Miller company and Charles Eames.

If you find yourself in Paris, visit the garden of the UNESCO headquarters. This is the designed by Noguchi (assisted by Japanese garden master Toemon Sano) and there you will find an extraordinary collection of his sculptures, the Garden of Peace (Jardin de la Paix).
