The Amsterdam Light Festival is about to start again. In the dark months of December and January, you can find light-installations and events across the city centre to brighten up your evenings. Near Central Station you can find the Fly's Eye Dome by Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983, USA), a prototype for a mobile and modular home. Or see a building long gone, rebuilt with light: the Temporal Tower, a reincarnation of the Haringpakkerstoren that was a part of our cityscape until the beginning of the 19th century. You can also participate in a lightbattle outside the Rijksmuseum, where you can climb on a bike and battle an opponent with you're bike light.

On rainy days, there's plenty to do inside. A lot of galleries and museums are participating, like GO Gallery with LED There Be Light. I'm definitely going there to see the light robots by +Brauer.

Loads more to do and see though! Check out Amsterdam Light Festival walking routes and events here. It will start the 6th of December, ending the 19th of January.

The Amsterdam Travelogue doesn't accept any paid advertising, free services/products, goodies, bribes and so on. All the things and tips in my guides are there, because I love them.
