Bet you didn't know this wiki-fact: Japan has one of the oldest and largest film industries in the world and as of 2010 is the fourth largest by number of feature films produced. Movies have been produced in Japan since 1897, when the first foreign cameramen arrived. So it might be worth checking out the annual Camera Japan Film Festival in Amsterdam. From 1 'till 6 October it will take place for the 8th time, showings are at Melkweg Cinema (1-4 October) and Filmtheatre Kriterion (4-6 October).
