Vintage inspiratie: Eartha Kitt

Catwoman in de jaren '60, jazz en disco zangeres en volgens Orson Welles "the most exciting woman in the world". Ze had een affaire met Wells en ging uit met onder andere Marlon Brando, James Dean, millionair Porfirio Rubirosa, Sammy Davis Jr. en Revlon oprichter Charles Revson.

In 1950 had Kitt een solo act in de Parijse nacht club Carroll's, een lesbische tent die werd gerunt door een voormalig geliefde van Marlene Dietrich. "Her name was Fred – one of the most beautiful women you ever want to see in your life, always dressed as a man."

Bad ass Kitt was ook een activiste en lid van de Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, en tijdens een lunch in het Witte Huis uitte ze kritiek over de Vietnam oorlog. Haar woorden tegen de vrouw van president Lyndon B. Johnson:

"The children of America are not rebelling for no reason. They are not hippies for no reason at all. We don’t have what we have on Sunset Blvd. for no reason. They are rebelling against something. There are so many things burning the people of this country, particularly mothers. They feel they are going to raise sons—and I know what it's like, and you have children of your own, Mrs. Johnson—we raise children and send them to war."

Hierna kon ze in de VS geen werk meer krijgen en vertrok ze naar Europa. Pas rond 1980 kreeg ze weer voet aan de grond in de VS.
